Supporting Regional

New Zealand

The New Zealand Methode Traditionelle sector has gained a lot of momentum in the past decade with an increase in NZ Methode brands driven by the growing domestic consumption. With the significant price increases of Champagne the consumer has begun searching for a more affordable equivalent which increases demand for New Zealand Methode Traditionelle.

Methode Services was first established to offer a solution to the Hawke’s Bay Methode producers as there were no services available in the lower north island. Methode Services Hawke’s Bay now works with many local producers of Methode Traditionelle whilst also offering support to the Wairarapa & Gisborne regions.

It is with great pride that we are now in a position to upscale and continue to support the New Zealand Methode Traditionelle sector while we also have begun expanding our services to the Central Otago and Marlborough regions.

The Directors

Founding Director Jascha Oldham-Selak (B.Viticulture and B.Oenology) with his heritage as one of the Selak wine dynasty, has dedicated his wine career exclusively to the Methode Traditionelle wine style and has since accumulated a decade of experience solely in the production origins of the Champenoise.

Having travelled throughout the world of sparkling wine his primary focus was in Champagne where he has worked in the vineyards and wineries of grower producers as well as experiencing Tirage & Disgorgement operations at various scale. Whilst being a consulting winemaker to many smaller NZ Methode Traditionelle producers he has also recently released a wine label “Vilaura”, that purely focuses on multi-regional, single vineyard, vintage style Methode Traditionelle wines from Hawke’s Bay, Marlborough & Central Otago.

By his side and with dutch heritage, Fiancée and business partner Sanne Witteveen (B.Oenology) has led a career path with a strong corporate influence. She has gained the majority of her winemaking experience with the likes of Church Road, Craggy Range and Villa Maria whilst also gaining an experience as assistant winemaker for a Grand Cru Champagne producer. Sanne has since also committed her winemaking profession to NZ Methode traditionelle and plays an integral role at Methode Services.

Together Jascha & Sanne operate Methode Services as independent proprietary directors and are very passionate about upholding the high standards of New Zealand Methode Traditionelle.
